Remember the summer: a day at the farm

My grandfather used to have the most amazing garden I can remember. He would woke up very early in the morning, put his wellies on and start his rounds. He would water all the plants, clean the alleys, kill any baddies. He loved all of his veggies and fruits as much as he loved fried eggs - don't tell my grandma though! I really want to show Fi the world of the garden, how veggies and fruit are grown and how to prepare and cook them. I thought it's never too young to start, so we went to a Pick Your Own farm close to London.

I was a bit afraid that she will get bored, but she loved it! She was so excited every time she found a nice ripe strawberry that we felt the trip was definitely a great idea. What's not to like really, run around in the sun, mud on your shoes, sweet juicy fruit in your tummy.
Ah yeah, sorry dear farm people - Fiona did eat a couple of strawberries - even though eating was forbidden. You try and stop her!

We came home with red onions, juicy plums, courgettes, strawberries and courgette flowers to be filled with goats cheese and tempura fried.

xoxo bread addicts!
